Description

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (DOE ASCR) announced a funding opportunity announcement (FOA) of $13.5 million over three years to support research using data science and computation-based methods, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Awards under this FOA will develop new software workflows and tools to accelerate the scientific discovery process through the convergence of experimental/simulation data, computational/experimental facilities, and a broad community of scientists to both generate high-fidelity simulations and steer experiments. Potential applications include tools for improving energy usage, and climate and weather forecasting.

The FOA, Integrated Computational and Data Infrastructure (ICDI) for Scientific Discovery (FOA Number: DE-FOA-0002482), was issued March 19, 2021. Required letters of intent are due Friday, April 2, at 5 p.m. Eastern time.

To learn more, see the DOE announcement. For detailed information, including how to submit a letter of intent, see DE-FOA-0002482 (PDF)
