Researchers Share Ideas at Analyses of Multi-Sector Energy and Environmental Dynamics Workshop

Description

A focused group of scientists met July 18 to 20, 2018 at Snowmass, Colorado for the Analyses of Multi-Sector Energy and Environmental Dynamics Workshop, sponsored by the Department of Energy and Japan’s National Institute for Environmental Studies.

DOE Director for Climate and Environmental Sciences Division Gary Geernaert, Stanford Professor John Weyant, and DOE Program Manager for the MultiSector Dynamics Bob Vallario welcomed attendees and opened the workshop. Sessions included, “Mapping a Universe of Coupled Human Earth Systems Modeling Tools,” “Model-Based Assessments of the Energy-Water-Land Dynamics: Earth System and Socio-Economic Trends and Forcings, Overarching Research Questions and Broad Analytical Approaches,” and “Details of Modeling Key Energy-Water-Land Interactions.”

According to Vallario, the workshop fostered cross-team discussions on numerous topics of interest. See the full meeting agenda
