The PCMDI Climate Data Management System and Data-Dimension Interface

The Climate Data Management System and Data-Dimension Interface is an open-source software project which develops integrated analysis and visualization tools specifically designed for large climate model datasets. This project supports the ongoing development and enhancement of the Climate Data Analysis Tool (CDAT) and its graphical interface VCDAT as well as its distribution to the climate modeling community outside of Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI). The project keeps abreast of the rapid changes in computing and software technology to provide a smooth migration path for the large community of users as technology changes. This provides the worldwide user access to climate data for model analysis, intercomparisons and validation thus in turn enabling model improvements for climate change projections.
